Day 1: Sunday, November 1 – The assignment is a 3 Mile Walk!
****Beginners – Just do (3) 5 Minute Walks spread out over the day

****If counting steps or minutes fits you better … try for 6,000 steps or 45 minutes! You can break it up in any way!
Day 2: Monday, November 2 – 2 Mile Walk!
****Beginners – Walk (2) 10 minute sessions

Day 3: Tuesday, November 3 – 1 Mile Walk in the Morning / 2 Miles later in the day!
****Beginners – Walk 10 mins. in the morning / 15 mins. in the evening

DAY 4: Wednesday, November 4
– 4 Mile Walk! Why not all 4’s today? Split it any way that fits!
***Or Choose 8,000 Steps or 60 minutes of walking! ***Beginners do (3) 10 min walks
DAY 5: Thursday. November 5–
5 MILER!!! (That was just too tempting -Day5-The 5th-5Ms!) 5 Miles is BIG WALKING! ***Please don’t worry at all if your fitness level is not up for that! Just do as much as you can … and you have satisfied the daily goal! I promise you … even a Mile a Day can keep the Doctor AWAY!
***Or Choose 10,000 steps or 75 minutes of walking!

DAY 6: Friday, November 6-
Six???… no, no just a little tease! 5 Miles is my limit Walkers … Over-Doing it always back fires! Since we are not taking any days off for this 21- and – we will build intensity into our walks by next week-adding mile after mile is not “sensible”. It will just lead to a fast BURN OUT! No “burn out” for us … here’s Friday’s goal…
Today’s Assignment – 2 Miles!
(After all -we just came off of a 4 and 5 Miler – whew!)

DAY 7: Saturday, November 7th – WALK 3 Miles!
It’s DAY 7 and our goal is 3 Miles of walking … any “way” you want to walk it! Try (3) 15 min. walks … or count 6,000 steps – 2,000 at a time! Do a Mile this morning and 2 later today…. it’s the BEST medicine you’ll ever take! And by DAY 7 of this 21 Day Challenge … don’t you FEEL strong??? That’s the body responding … at any stage of life … no matter what obstacles … we can change what needs changed … improve what needs improved…. and enjoy our best health! OK … now GO WALK everyone! -Leslie:)

DAY 8: Sun. November 8th – WALK 1 Mile ***OR Choose 2,000 steps or 15 mins. of walking! ***Going into our 2nd week, Beginners try your best to keep up with the daily assignment, but never worry if the miles are too much, fitness increases naturally each time you walk … no need to over do it!
DAY 9: Monday, November 9th – WALK 4 Miles!
***OR Choose 8,000 steps or 60 mins. of walking!

DAY 10: Tuesday. November 9th
WALK 2 Miles in 30 minutes (or less)!
The speed is important today … why you ask? Well at 2 Miles in 30 mins. – for most people- that is a BRISK 4 mile per hour pace! BRISK exercise is “aerobic” exercise … the working muscles demand a bunch of oxygen … heart rate goes up … healthy circulation sweeps away stuff that clogs things up … and there are endless rewards to aerobically fit people! ONE of the ALL -Time BEST rewards…. it can STOP DIABETES! It’s true … so many people that have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes could have prevented it all together if they would have kept a regular routine of “Fast Walking”
- or Aerobic Exercise! The American Diabetes Association reports that nearly 86 Million children and adults (breaks my heart to see children listed) are PREdiabetic … and 30 Million are Type 2 Diabetic! If you are trending toward Type 2 D…. you can REVERSE that trend … SEE YOUR DOC … then GO FOR A WALK! (Rhyme! I didn’t plan that … it just came out …smile emoticon
It’s National Diabetes Awareness Month … we all know someone that is Diabetic or is trending … let’s help get them walking today!
