Mid-Week Wake Up

What better way to wake up and shake up your mood this week than with a powerful, energized walk?

My passion for health and wellness is to inspire all of you to reach your highest optimal self. When you feel good, your goodness radiates from the depths of your soul. You have a special light that is unique to you. If you let that light shine for others to see, they will naturally be attracted to your positivity. You can give the gift of happiness by simply feeling good. It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day…  Are you feelin’ good?

You may ask me: How do I stay committed to a positive mind-set every single day?  Yesterday really took a toll on me emotionally.  I don’t think I’ll ever be able to move on.

I’ve been walking at home for almost 14 years. I want to be honest with you: I’m not a fitness expert. But I believe in the Walk. It demands your entire mind, body, and soul to be present whether your doing a 1-mile Mini Walk or the challenging 5-mile Fat Burning Walk. You see, walking our way doesn’t only change how you fit into your jeans. When you get your heart pumping, you actually ignite your mental and spiritual fire. By simply moving your feet to the beat, you pump loads of oxygen into your brain. More oxygen equals power. You will be stronger physically and mentally. A stronger mind and body is a more confident spirit. When you make the positive choice to walk, your rewards are endless. Yesterday will be less of a burden, because you have walked away your aches, your fears, and your nerves. Congratulations!

For the next two weeks, try this:

Choose one hobby that feeds your mind, body, and soul, and commit to it every day, even if it’s only for fifteen minutes. I call this your YOU activity.  When I began my journey to positive, healthy living- (and believe me, this road never ends!) – I found that writing every day helped me to feel more stable, more alive. Life is meant for living. No matter where you are in your life right now, you can start living today by committing to an activity such as walking, cooking, reading, yoga, learning a new instrument, painting – whatever makes you feel awesome and grateful for your beautiful life! Choose something that challenges your mind, body, and soul. I encourage you to explore all of your options, and find the one thing that really speaks to you. Time is not an issue. Take as much time as you need. Just like there is always time for a good breakfast in the morning, you can make the time for healthy self-exploration. You will benefit by gaining a better understanding of yourself, which inevitably leads to greater acceptance of others and inner peace.

Once you feel confident with your daily YOU activity, slowly begin to add other activities that inspire you in other ways. For instance, I kick start my day by walking at home. If I have a thirty minute lunch break, I write in my journal. After dinner, I like to play the piano, even if it is only for ten minutes. You can do the same by choosing YOU activities that are YOUnique.

By making healthy, positive lifestyle choices, you become an inspiration, a motivator, for your friends, your family, and your co-workers. Perhaps within two weeks of this committed YOU challenge, you will have a new walking partner. I hope you gain ten new walking partners!
